REGISTRATION 

How do I register? If your Summit application is accepted, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to registration. 


Can I transfer my registration to a colleague? Because we are committed to representing the diverse people and perspectives of the children and nature movement, registration transfer requests must be reviewed and approved by our selection committee. Send transfer requests to conference@childrenandnature.org.


Refund Policy: A full registration refund is available up to 48 hours after purchase. If you wish to cancel after 48 hours, submit a request by April 5, 2020 to conference@childrenandnature.org and your registration will be refunded, less a $75 USD administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after April 5, 2020. 



TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS

Summit Hotel: We have a block of discounted rooms ($179 plus tax/night) at our Summit meeting venue, the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

  • Reserve a room online at our booking website, which will allow you to make, modify and cancel hotel reservations and take advantage of room upgrades, amenities and other hotel services.

  • Reserve via phone toll free at 877-803-7534 or 404-577-1234; ask for the Children & Nature Network 2020 room block to get our discounted rate.

Getting to the Summit from the airport:

  • Driving to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta (11 miles) takes approximately 20 minutes, pending traffic. Rental cars, taxis and ride services are available at the airport.

  • Public Transportation: Take any northbound train from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and exit at the Peachtree Center Station, which is connected to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta through the Peachtree Center Mall. Fares are $2.50 each way. 

  • Parking: Secure, underground valet parking is available at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta for $45/day. Self-park options are also available; details here



MEALS

Continental breakfast and ‘grab-and-go’ lunches will be provided on both days. Participants will be on their own for dinner. Water coolers will be available; disposable/plastic bottles of water will not. Please bring a reusable water bottle.



GET NETWORKING

Attendee List: When you register, be sure to check the box indicating that you wish to have your contact information included on the Summit participant list, which will be shared with Summit attendees.


Create or update your profile with your bio and photo in Sched, our online Summit platform. After you register for the Summit, you will receive an email from Sched with log-in instructions. Email conference@childrenandnature.org if you have any problems logging in.


Make your Sched profile public:  New privacy laws require that your Sched information remain private unless YOU mark it public. To change your profile from unviewable/private to viewable/public, modify your profile settings by clicking the "Make my profile & schedule public" toggle button.

Resource Table: C&NN will provide an information table where Summit participants and select partners can offer handouts and takeaways. Here’s how it works:

  • You bring a maximum of 2 resource materials to share with up to 400 attendees.* 

  • If you wish to share a resource as DISPLAY ONLY, please mark it clearly as such. (The information table will be self-serve; C&NN can not guarantee the display copy will stay on display.)

  • Poster presentations are also welcome at the resource table. We have a limited number of easels; please email conference@childrenandnature.org to request one.

  • You take home all the leftover materials.

ACCESSIBILITY & INCLUSION 

  • At all C&NN events, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, supported and valued.

  • Gender specific and gender neutral restrooms will be available at the Hyatt.

  • We share preferred personal pronouns on Summit name badges.

  • A nursing mother’s room with a refrigerator and electrical outlets will be available at the Hyatt. 

  • A quiet space will be provided for prayer and meditation at the Hyatt.

  • Service animals trained specifically to assist people with disabilities are welcome.

Can children attend?

  • Attendees often travel to our events with their families; please note that C&NN does not provide childcare services. 

  • 2020 Leadership Summit attendees are selected through an application process designed to connect cross sector leaders for peer-to-peer learning and action. If you have a child under 18 years of age who is highly motivated to participate in the Summit, please contact conference@childrenandnature.org. Everyone attending needs to register; minors must be accompanied by an adult.



PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY RELEASE

By registering for the Summit, you are granting the Children & Nature Network permission to photograph and/or film you and, if applicable, your presentation; and to share photos and video of you and, if applicable, your presentation on our website, social media channels, in print collateral and for future Summit promotions. Atlanta in May can be warm with temperatures in the high seventies to low eighties, with the average high temperature of 79.9°F. The average humidity in May is 67.2%.

AREA ATTRACTIONS

Some of Atlanta's most popular attractions are an easy walk from the Hyatt, including the Center for Civil and Human Rights, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, and the College Football Hall of Fame. Hop on MARTA from the hotel’s Peachtree Center Station and explore nearby neighborhoods, from Buckhead and Midtown to Inman Park and Old 4th Ward. Learn more here.

We are not seeking speakers, workshops or exhibitors for the 2020 Leadership Summit, but we will for our 2021 International Conference:  

  • RFPs for 2021 presentations, workshops and posters will open Summer 2020.  

  • Information about becoming an exhibitor in 2021 will be available in early 2020.
